PostSubject: It's TIME to get a DECISION -- Tomorrow Will Be 30 days   Thu Oct 25, 2007 12:55 am

I emailed Commissioner Ryan, Pamela Lampitt and Louis Greenwald today (10/24) again, requesting a decision. To date, I have not had a response from the Commissioner. The promise was 30 days. Tomorrow will be just that.

I encourage you all to do the same and contact or email all of the other non-computer Cherry Hill citizens. If I do not at least get a courtesy response in a day or two, I plan on contacting the media to try to get them to get an answer.

I am proud of all of us for keeping this out of our neighborhoods up until now; however, this is beginning to smell bad for us if we don't get a decision before election day.

Feel free to respond.......or post your thoughts/ideas.

I spoke with Mary Helen Cervantes, Director, Communications and Legislation, of NJ Department of Children and Families tonight (10/23). At the end of our conversation, I was still left with no definitive information as to when the Commissioner will make a decision.

I reiterated all my reasons as to why I felt that the house next door to me is wrong for this purpose. I stated that the State was given enough information from all of our residents to make, in my opinion, a clear and easy decision for us and the children. I stated that this does not smell good and I am suspect at this election time.

I also understood that Cherry Hill NJMentor Group Homes issue was not the only one on the State’s plate, but I have been sleepless and fearful since June/July and I need closure and peace.

Ms. Cervantes stated that her telephone and email (609-292-0422
mary.cervantes@dcf.state.nj.us) are always open to all of our concerns and that all of the aspects of what they need to look at to move forward and/or change what is best for the community and the kids are ultimately in the forefront.

Although I expressed my disappointment that the Commissioner has not replied to any emails to even confirm receipt, she assured me that her call to me is doing just that.

Do we still open ourselves up to the media at this time or wait a "little longer"? No confused

I suspect the group home will open shortly after the elections.
If it were to open now it would be bad press for Platt, Greenwald, Lampitt re-election campaigns.

Tom Bell at the press office (609-292-0422) said that as of 10/25, no decision has been made. Ms. Cervantes was "unavailable".
